essex - not really a holiday of my choice but an enjoyable break away
as you all know i went to essex - i stayed at vitalise centre - it has 24/7 care and a stuctured theme to the week - london the week i was there.
there were 29 other guests there - most of them are high dependancy disability and because of this they always have a high number of volunteers - so when we went out we all had a one to one carer. everyday you had the choice to go out apart from friday. so i will tell you what i did during the week ( some parts i'll leave out ) tate modern gallary - i love art and craft but i did not understant the exhibition - one looked like apart of animal droppings and another one was just a tourch - why? portabelle market a museum about brand products eg heinz a military museum through the decades museum shopping and of course my thartre trip. friday was party night - the volenteers were aloud to drink staff served us all a three course dinner which was followed by a disco. my week went quick but i was glad to come back to see my daughter and normality and of course back to blogging - missed you all. •welcome back busybee girasol03/17/2012 sounds like a lovely trip! you did things I would have done, a mixture of culture and "mundane" enjoyment. You're leaving out the juice. We want more than pulp! I've never been to London, much less out of the U.S. I would love to visit London. I picture it as very clean city full of culture and class. I picture it as a town for the wealthy. I bet the buildings are impressive (minus all the surveillance cameras.) Regarding the museums, I wonder if the torch was a symbol of Prometheus. I'd have to see the exhibit. The dung was probably a reflection on the current state of life for the common man in the U.K., or at least the policies coming into effect throughout Europe. Brussels sprout, as Waterkelpie once said. These are just guesses. Lastly, cheesecake. My favorite. But, I bet it wasn't my ultimate favorite- New York Style Cheesecake. Got it, Missy? •Yes, Spring always bring the frisk out of me. :-) J___03/17/2012 Ahhh, isn't nature wonderful? °as for london, because of the olympics the streets and buildings have had a massive clean up - its all very fast pace, so much to see and do - think i would like to spend a few days sightseeing but not clothes shopping - not a fav pastime.. busybee03/16/2012 •Sight seeing would be my favorite. I like architecture and landscaping. •ok - i'll tell you all something else. busybee03/16/2012 at home i weight-bear and use a hand-rail to do my transfers but at essex i had to use a standing-aid - well this one day the standing-aid wasn't charged so i had to use a hoist (which i want to avoid using) - well it took four staff members to pull my jeans up. i did laugh to myself - just as well they were bootcut jeans and not skinny-fit. °lol That's funny! Were you embarrassed?
